A Little Bit Spooky

We may earn money or products from the companies mentioned in this post.

Sunday was the first day in a quite a while that I didn’t have hours of homework looming over my head, so I spent my evening cleaning my disastrous apartment, decorating a bit for Halloween, and watching the Rocky Horror Picture Show for the first time (which was probably the weirdest thing I’ve ever seen). I’m a little disappointed because I was supposed to have already moved into the new house. However, closing is taking considerably longer than expected so I’m still stuck in the apartment. The apartment is not the best canvas for holiday decorations, so I’m trying to make the best of it. While I’ve got a few more additions to make once I’ve got a little free time, here’s what I’ve got so far:

{Martha Stewart’s paper crows via Joann Fabrics sit atop a painting of  Parisian cafe…}

{…and atop pretty much every picture in my living room}

{Silver and black skull candles via TJ Maxx sit on a thrifted mirror tray}

{Brady’s new Halloween bat toy via Petsmart}

I’ve also got these cute little things via Joann Fabrics, but I’m not really sure where to put them in the apartment. Since it is a little cramped, the floorboards don’t really show very much. I may save them for next year.

Also, I’ve got a bit of exciting news (well, I’m excited about it). My two best friends from college are coming to visit me this weekend, and it has been far too long since I last saw them. Come to think of it, Kayla and I actually met for the first time on Halloween. Anyway, having company gives me the perfect opportunity to bake delicious goodies, and then blog about them. So, exciting point #1 is that I have Halloween food posts coming soon. #2: Having friends here means that I have people for me to photograph, and people to photograph me….which means outfit posts (finally!). I’m really excited about this, so make sure to check back next week for lots of outfits/recipe ideas!

    Otis is jealous of Brady’s bat toy! Very cute Halloween decorations.
