{A better look at the actual poncho}

{I love this clutch. I promise I’ll try not to use it in every outfit post, but I just really like it.}
When I hear the word “poncho” I immediately think of those awful plastic things they give you to wear when it is raining at an outdoor sporting event or Disney World. However, this season has brought about some much chic-er versions of this rainy day wear. I picked this one up from H&M a while back, and it has forever changed my mind about ponchos. Mine is made up of a chunky knit with a faux turtleneck and kangaroo-pouch pocket. It is insanely comfortable. Because ponchos are generally quite voluminous, I suggest pairing them with tighter bottoms: skinny jeans or leggings. As for the rest of the outfit, keep it relatively simple. Ponchos are a statement piece, so avoid adding too  many other “statements.” A pop of color like my clutch, or an armful of bracelets would be sufficient, but try not to go overboard- i.e. you should NOT wear your poncho with leopard-print booties, a neon-yellow bib necklace, bermuda shorts and a giant purse all at the same time, as seen here. Sorry, Katherine. It’s just a bit much. (For the record, Katherine was voted worst dressed of the week by Joan Rivers and the gang on E!’s show Fashion Police). My poncho is a bit simpler than hers, so I could probably get away with a few more accessories, but, as a general rule, I like to keep things clean and fuss-free.

    Thank you Birgit and Tina! The Missoni for Target pieces I was lucky enough to find are some of my favorite pieces of my wardrobe right now. They are so versatile!

    I love this sweater on you! It looks amazing with your skinny jeans and your Missoni clutch and shoes.

    Also agree that Katherine scared her poor poncho with the rest of her outfit.
