April Mauve

Top/Jeans: The Limited, Shoes: Bandolino via TJ Maxx (similar), Clutch: Michael Kors via TJ Maxx, Nails: Revlon Colorstay in Coastal Surf via Ulta
I’m not really sure why, but I’ve always associated the color mauve with the month of April, and vice versa. It’s such a springy, Easter-y color, so I thought this top would be perfect to wear to our casual Easter brunch. I was extra excited because 3 weeks ago this top was significantly too tight in the hips to wear in public, i.e. my attempt at “shedding for the wedding” is working! (Thank you, Tim Ferriss!). I really like the faux wrap feature of the top, although I discovered quite quickly that I need to invest in some double-stick wardrobe tape if I ever want to wear this shirt on a windy day. I also am a sucker for sleeves that have the little cuffs on them- it’s the little details like these that really elevate a normal piece of clothing into an extraordinary garment.
P.S. I would like to point out that both the shoes and the Michael Kors clutch cost me less than the clutch alone would have been at a department store. Grand total: $75. God bless you, TJ Maxx.

I seriously love this outfit. The color of the top is perfect on you, and I love how simple everything else is.
