Mixing Prints

I would describe my style as being pretty simple and classic, so, up until this weekend, I’ve been somewhat apprehensive about mixing prints…and wearing lime green leopard print pants. But these pants have been on my wish list for quite some time, and pairing them with a striped shirt seemed liked the perfect outfit to wear to a baby shower this weekend.
If you, too, are apprehensive about mixing prints, a simple striped shirt is a perfect place to start. Aside from being one of the most versatile and wearable items you can own, a simple striped shirt can basically serve as a neutral or solid when paired with another print. I love the idea of wearing a striped shirt with floral jeans or shorts for an effortless, summery look, or layered underneath a pretty sweater for a cozy and chic outfit for cooler weather.
What are your best tips for mixing prints?

Smart pairing those pants with nude-tone heels. If you paired those with a loud pair of shoes I think the world would end.
