This outfit pretty much breaks most of my professional attire rules. The statement necklace, the neon yellow top with lace overlay, the pave bracelet, the lipstick, etc. But sometimes rules just need to be broken. The event I was attending was a bit more casual than most suit-required events, so I felt okay about pairing all these girly touches with my suit. Also, my suit pants are a bit too large in the waist, so I felt extra manly….major jewels and pink lipstick were a must this morning.
I actually felt somewhat feminine and fashionable wearing this. I think I’m finally starting to learn how to put my own spin on work clothes without breaking the corporate dress code. So maybe I’ll relax a bit on my “simple jewelry only” rule when dealing with work attire.
This necklace was actually in the mailbox when I got home from the event, so I didn’t get to wear it to the event, but I totally would have worn it if it had arrived a day earlier. I couldn’t wait to put it on when I got home and saw it in the mailbox, and I was really surprised by how much I loved the suit and statement necklace combination.
