Blonde Hair, Don’t Care

You guys.

I am losing it.
In June, I was 100% dead set on dying my hair blonde right before the bar exam (14 days away, by the way), and now that it’s time for me to call and make the appointment, I’m totally getting cold feet. I blame it (and everything else right now) on the bar exam. I just can’t make up my mind!  One day I’m positive I want to do it and I pick up the phone to schedule an appointment but don’t actually call, and then the next day I lay wide awake in bed at night panicking about how my life would be over if my hair turned orange or if it accentuated my already super-red skin tone.
Hashtag, dramatic.

I need change.
I survived law school- now I need to do something crazy! To me, hair color change = totally crazy.
I think my current/natural hair color washes me out.
I want glossy, new hair color, but my current is dull and blah.
It would be light and fun for the rest of summer.
I think it would be fun! Carpe diem, right?
I feel like this is my last chance to go blonde because I fear that I won’t be taken seriously in a law job if I am brunette one day and show up the next day with blonde hair.
I was blonde as a child, and they say that if you were blonde as a child, then you can pull it off as an adult.
I want to have perfect, beachy hair like the women in these pictures. Amber and Grace are responsible for giving me the whole blonde idea in the first place. Jacey, too.

I’m worried about hair damage.
My complexion is really red, so I’m concerned that the blonde could accentuate the redness (but this could also possibly be fixed by makeup?) **this is probably the one thing that is holding me back from dying it the most.
I’m a complete control freak about my hair. What if I hate the new color?
I’m afraid it might be difficult to keep it from getting brassy.
It’s expensive.
I’ve thought about just getting a few highlights to see how I like it, but, one thing I’ve learned about myself over the past few years is that I tend to think in extremes.  It’s all or nothing. Majorly blonde or no change at all.
Please help me decide!

As always, thanks for reading…Have a great Monday!

I will say from past experience that you’re always going to wonder – so go for it! Hair is always changeable. I remember when I first went full blonde (in high school) and I was worried about whether I could pull it off, etc… and I loved it & it looked great on me! A hairstylist should be able to help pick out a shade that won’t accentuate redness… and while upkeep & money is an issue, if you’re really interested in trying it, it’s worth it. And if not, you can always change it back. As far as damage goes – I’m sure a professional can give you plenty of tips on how to keep it moisturized, etc.

Have fun with it! 🙂 And also good luck on your bar exam!
