Our First Anniversary

I really can’t believe it’s been an entire year since we got married. It seems like just yesterday I woke up to a house full of all of my best girlfriends, mimosas and more curling irons than I can count. The morning didn’t start quite as I had anticipated…I woke up with horrible allergies, so I sent two of my friends to get coffee and the entire allergy aisle at CVS. Then, while waiting for my hairstylist/wedding planner extraordinaire to get to the house to do my hair, I laid in bed and watched Whale Wars. The bridesmaids thought that was the funniest thing in the whole world….I may never live that one down!
We all got ready at my house, then piled in two cars and headed to the church with our dresses in tow. I got dressed- still miserably sick….but, like some kind of wedding miracle, the second we walked up to the church and the processional began, I felt better instantly.
The rest of the day proceeded just as I had hoped. I got to marry the greatest man in the entire world, then we left the church and took a couple “family photos” with our dog, Brady. Then we headed to the reception where we got to dance the night away with all our best friends and family members. We reminisced for days about how wonderful it was to have all of our loved ones together in the same room at the same time. We are such a lucky couple to have such great friends and family.

The past year has been so wonderful. Cory is truly the most kind, caring, hard-working man, and I am so lucky to have him as a husband and best friend.

Since the bar exam is only a few days away, we decided not to celebrate our actual anniversary today, and instead, we’re going to go out to a nice dinner when we are on vacation in Hilton Head next month. Recommendations are welcome!
