Despite the fact that the old “no white after Labor Day” rule was thrown out years ago, it seems like a lot of large retailers haven’t caught on to the new rule. I set out last week in search of my first pair of white jeans, and nearly every store had all their white pants marked down on super sale. This pair was only $8!* For that price, I couldn’t resist them as a way to try out the white pant trend for the first time.
They might not be the most flattering pair of pants on my stumpy little legs (I tend to stick with darker denim washes), but these pants are such a fun way to switch up my typical blue jean routine. I’ve been so surprised at how fresh and new all my shirts look with white bottoms…who knew a simple pair of pants could give me such a new outlook on my wardrobe?
On the blonde hair front, I noticed in this post that my hair was starting to get ca-razy brassy. I turned to my favorite beauty blog, Maskcara, for help, and she did not disappoint. I tried out this vinegar rinse with blue food coloring (I didn’t have any red), and it killed the brassiness in no time, although I did detect a slight vinegar scent in my hair the rest of the day.

I’m glad the brassiness is gone, but I have been having an insane battle with tangles and damage since getting my highlights. I have tried so many deep conditioners that my shower floor is covered in bottles, but nothing seems to help. I’m trying really hard to get my hair back into healthy shape, you know, so I can highlight it again, but nothing seems to be working.
Has anybody else experienced severe tangling/damage post-highlights? And how did you fix it? What are your best tips for nursing damaged locks back to good health?

*I should note that these are actually capri jeans, which might have been part of the reason they were less than $10. Other white long jeans were marked down to about $10-$14 at my local Old Navy. More proof that I have stumpy little legs: capris on normal people = ankle pants on me.

What a great idea! My legs are really short and I never thought that capris would work as ankle pants. That necklace is to.die.for.

I LOVE this color combination! I think white is the perfect color to pair with that top!
