J.Crew Floral Scarf / Gigi New York Lime Crossbody / Loren Hope Cuff / J.Crew Factory Floral Stripe Shorts / Zara Tortoiseshell Minaudiere / Chanel Espadrilles / Whitening Lightning Professional Teeth Whitening Kit
Now that it’s warm(er) outside, I feel like, in my head, I’m completely bypassing spring and dreaming of summer. Summer, to me, is the perfect time to let loose and wear bright colors with reckless abandon. For the past few months, I’ve been entertaining the idea of purchasing a lime green satchel. I love this one from Gigi New York so much. It’s everything I’ve been looking for in a lime bag- structured shape, an adjustable strap that can be worn crossbody-style or as a shoulder bag, and the perfect green color that is bright enough to be considered lime but not so bright that it’s bordering neon territory. And how fabulous would this lime green bag look with that vibrant purple Loren Hope cuff? #swoon
In addition to bright and bold colors, this year I’m also really drawn to the idea of wearing ensembles composed entirely of classic neutrals: whites, blacks, tortoiseshell, etc. I’ve been trying to save up for these Chanel espadrilles, but J.Crew’s recent sales have kind of put a stop to that…
A pair of classic white skinny jeans paired with these Chanel espadrilles, a black or white v-neck tee, a red lip and this tortoiseshell minaudiere would make for an effortlessly chic daytime outfit. At night, swap the espadrilles for some black heeled sandals (like these) and suddenly you’re perfectly dressed up for dinner by the beach. Can you tell how much I’ve been dreaming about summer and summery outfits?
I also usually ramp up my beauty routine in the spring to prepare for summer. This is when I start paying special attention to moisturizing and exfoliating my skin, applying sunless tanner to get the perfect glow, and whitening my teeth to perfect my smile. I’ve tried Crest Whitestrips many times over the past several years, and, while I love them and I definitely get great results with them, they make my teeth so sensitive. Like, so sensitive that it takes me about 5 months to get through one box. I haven’t tried Whitening Lightning before, but the company says that you get noticeable results in one use with zero sensitivity. I’m a bit skeptical, but also very intrigued. The Whitening Lightning kit is more expensive than Crest Whitestrips though, so I’m having a difficult time deciding whether to spend my money on it considering I’m not even sure it will work for me. For that reason, I’m going to think about this one for a while and read lots of online reviews to help me decide. If you’ve tried Whitening Lightning before, I’d love to know how it worked for you.
What items are on your summer wish list? Do you have a special pre-summer beauty routine? I’d love to hear about it in the comments or on Facebook!
